Our Ukrainian Saturday school recently held a special and heartwarming activity — forest therapy for children. We talked about nature and how the forest can help people calm down, restore their energy, and feel a sense of harmony. The children listened to the sounds of nature, shared their feelings, and discovered how important it is sometimes to simply pause and take a deep breath. 🌲 Activities like this help children not only learn new things but also develop attention, imagination, and emotional balance. They also help children feel a connection with nature and with their cultural roots. 💛 It was wonderful to see how the children actively participated in the discussion, shared their thoughts, and supported each other. ✨ We invite children to join our classes! At our school, children: • learn the Ukrainian language • explore Ukrainian culture and traditions • participate in creative and educational activities • make new friends We would be happy to welcome new students and families to our friendly Ukrainian community! ____________ 🌿 Лісотерапія в українській школі для дітей! У нашій українській суботній школі відбулося незвичайне та дуже тепле заняття — лісотерапія для дітей. Ми говорили про природу та про те, як ліс допомагає людині заспокоїтися, відновити сили й відчути гармонію. Діти вчилися слухати звуки природи, ділилися своїми відчуттями та відкривали для себе, як важливо іноді просто зупинитися і зробити глибокий вдих. 🌲 Такі зустрічі допомагають не лише дізнаватися нове, а й розвивати увагу, уяву та емоційну рівновагу. А ще — відчувати зв’язок із природою та з рідною культурою. 💛 Нам було дуже радісно бачити, як діти активно долучаються до розмови, діляться думками та підтримують одне одного. ✨ Запрошуємо дітей приєднатися до наших занять! We learned that every pattern on the egg is more than just a decoration—it’s a meaningful message: - The Oak Leaf – a symbol of strength and resilience; - The Sun – the source of light and life; - The Infinite Line (Bezkonechnyk) – a sign of our family’s continuity and prosperity. The children drew every line with incredible enthusiasm, putting a piece of their souls and sincere wishes for peace into every egg. 🌍𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰? It turns out the world's largest Pysanka monument is located right here in Canada! 🇨🇦 The town of Vegreville is home to a giant Easter egg weighing over 2 tons. This is the first movie from the series "Saturday Ukrainian Cinema". Our Saturday school hosted wonderful work of Ukrainian animators “Mavka: The Forest Song” 🌿✨ Our gatherings are much more than just watching a cartoon. They are about warmth, our native language, and giving children and adults the chance to feel a piece of home even when far away. Novadays it is especially important to come together, support one another and our Ukrainian culture wherever we are. It is in moments like these that a true sense of unity, strength, and community is born. Thank you to everyone who joined us, helped organize this event, and continues to support our Ukrainian community 💙💛 Together — we are stronger. ____________ У нашій українській суботній школі відбувся теплий перегляд мультфільму «Лісова Мавка» 🌿✨ Такі зустрічі — це значно більше, ніж просто мультфільм. Це про тепло, рідну мову та можливість дітям і дорослим відчути частинку дому навіть далеко від нього. Сьогодні особливо важливо збиратися разом, підтримувати одне одного та дбайливо зберігати наш український простір, де б ми не були. Саме в такі моменти народжується відчуття єдності, сили та спільності. Дякуємо всім, хто був з нами, допоміг організувати цю зустріч і підтримує життя нашої української спільноти 💙💛 Разом — ми сильніші.

7 March 2026, the Ukrainian Saturday School in Truro held a very special lesson dedicated to the memory of Taras Shevchenko. Our students loved learning about the life of this outstanding poet and artist. We discussed his legendary poetry collection, the "Kobzar," and shared some incredible facts that surprised even the adults. For instance, the children learned that this famous book has been translated into more than 100 languages around the world! 🌍 Also, did you know that when it comes to the number of monuments globally, Taras Shevchenko is second only to Jesus Christ? There are nearly 1,400 monuments dedicated to him across the globe, from Brazil to China! We are so proud to preserve our culture and pass our rich heritage on to the next generation. 💙💛 _________________________ 7 березня 2026р. в Українській суботній школі в Труро пройшов особливий урок, присвячений пам'яті Тараса Шевченка. Наші учні із захопленням слухали історію життя видатного поета та художника. Ми говорили про його знамениту збірку «Кобзар» і ділилися неймовірними фактами, які вразили навіть дорослих. Наприклад, діти дізналися, що цю легендарну книгу перекладено понад 100 мовами світу! 🌍 А чи знали ви, що за кількістю встановлених пам'ятників Тарас Шевченко поступається лише Ісусу Христу? На планеті налічується майже 1400 монументів, присвячених нашому Кобзарю, від Бразилії до Китаю! Пишаємося тим, що можемо зберігати нашу культуру та передавати її наступним поколінням. 💙💛
